Is Christianity For Your Gain?

As we look into a mirror we see a distorted image, for if we see ourselves and not Christ in us, we need to evaluate ourselves. For so is the message, that we are to die with Christ, that not I but Christ lives in me. Yet, how can I see Christ living in me, if Christianity is for my gain? Are we not to approach Christ with in mind of what we can do for Him? Are we not His servant, is not to serve our goal? Yet, what is it that we hear? If we suffer, it is not of God, if we have pain, it is of satan? How can we know Him if we have never been brought to the end of self? How can we touch Him if we have not entered in to the realm that is beyond what we really can comprehend with our mind. It is only when we enter into that place where we leave off what we can discern with our senses, and enter into that place which is beyond the physical, that place where faith, the substance of things not seen is evident.

Oh, if we could only have a better understanding of the mind of Christ. For as we are transformed from glory to glory can we only begin to get a glimpse of His higher ways, His higher thoughts. Do you appreciate the sacrifice of Christ? Are we so blessed in our society that it shields us from the reality of the privilege of Christianity? Has our blessing been so that it does not allow the sword of His Spirit to cut deep with in us to allow Christ to come forth in all His glory? We see no glory in sacrifice or suffering or trial and tribulation! Have we missed something? Do we know how to lay down our life for the brethren? Have we missed the mark? Do we give out of our joy of giving or from our need to receive? Have we received Christ to serve Him or to be served our selves? Are our minds fixed on that from above or are our thoughts inundated with the things of earthly nature? Are we moved by the compassion of Jesus or our own hurts and scars?

Are we willing to truly
pick up our cross daily, to put our hands to the plow and not look back; to look in the mirror and say not I but Christ lives big in me?!
